Cranking Tactics For Winter
Cranking during the winter is a must. Hard baits are a go-to for me. You really want to make sure you have the right set up on your rods and reels. You will be throwing something that may fatigue you after a little while, so make sure you have the right gear. Find some good flats to throw a rattle trap or jerk bait on. Deep banks with rocks are also good places to look for.
Fall Bowfishing Tactics
Bowfishing in the fall is slightly more challenging. The fish are a little harder to find. You want to look for water around 2 or 3 feet. They are going to be harder to see, but the rewards are well worth it .
Summer Bass Fishing
Bass fishing in the summer requires a little more persistence. You want to fish a lot of covered areas with trees, stumps, weeds etc. Use a topwater bait in the mornings then switch to something a little deeper during the daytime.
Spring Bowfishing
Spring time is the most amazing time to have your bow in the boat. It is so easy to go out one afternoon and shoot a huge amount of fish. When the sun goes down, it gets even better. What you want to be looking for in the spring is good shallow banks and the nice green weeds because oxygen is low.
January Fishing
A good January tactic is to use crank baits or jerk baits. You want be looking for good running water in creeks and find where the shad are moving. Flats are really good on the warmer days because the fish are wanting to come out of the deeper water.
